MBE Empowerment Fund

The MBE Empowerment Fund™ (The Fund) is a community development venture capital fund created to provide long-term equity, near equity, and debt investments in minority business enterprises. The Fund seeks to close the funding gap experienced by minority-led ventures that often do not meet the investment criteria, credit, and minimum revenue requirements of commercial lenders and traditional venture capital funds. The Fund focuses on start-up ventures led by ethnic minorities, women, ex-offenders, and service-connected disabled veterans located and doing business in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The MBE Empowerment Fund™ offers more than just financing, it envelopes disadvantaged minority-owned businesses with management and technical assistance, access to broader financial resources, and a network of professional service providers, including lawyers, marketing consultants, accountants, and others who have the skills, resources and experience to affect its chances for success.

The Emerging Entrepreneurs Scholarship Program offers non-renewable, merit-based scholarships for emerging entrepreneurs who have demonstrated entrepreneurial talents or accomplishments. The program was established to encourage and promote entrepreneurship among the youth of the Commonwealth of Virginia, while raising awareness of the critical role that private enterprise and entrepreneurship play in building and supporting our communities.
