Virginia Housing and Community Development Corporation
Neighborhood revitalization, rehabilitation, and affordable housing template.
The goal of the VHCDC Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) is to reclaim neighborhoods blighted by deteriorating structures, abandoned properties, and dumping grounds and convert them into stable, vibrant communities with next-generation housing.
The VHCDC NRI Team works directly with neighborhood residents to assess community needs and, in partnership with investors, community impact teams, and service providers, to improve residential properties and infrastructure.
The need for rehabilitation and preservation of single family housing and neighborhoods is well documented in comprehensive plans for local communities. VHCDC uses these plans in selecting communities and neighborhoods where it will acquire and rehabilitate single-family housing assets.
