VHCDC Workshop Empowers The Credit Challenged

Date Published: Jan 16, 2015

VHCDC announced today it will be conducting a credit restoration workshop on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the ODU Tri-Cities Higher Education Center located at 1070 University Blvd in Portsmouth, Virginia.

This interactive workshop is designed to provide attendees an in-depth understanding of credit reporting and scores maintained by the credit bureaus and reported to potential and current creditors. Particular focus is on the importance and impact their credit history and scores have on obtaining credit, getting insurance, securing employment, leasing an apartment, or buying a home or car.

VHCDC wants to educate attendees on how to manage their credit and restore or increase their credit themselves. Attendees will have the opportunity obtain a copy of the credit history maintained by the three credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion), see exactly what information is being reported to their creditors (and potential creditors), and prepare and mail letters to the credit bureaus to dispute inaccurate or erroneous information, with the assistance of the instructor on the day of the workshop.

Those interested in attending the workshop may register here or see our Community Calender for other dates and locations.
